Yeah so for the record Mamoru TOTALLY had a naked transformation sequence in the manga. OBSERVE. Note that you can see the outline of his pecs the same way you can see the outlines of the Senshi’s curves. One panel and all transparent and ambiguous, but that’s how the Senshi’s transformations were in the manga- always restricted to one panel, with so much light you could barely even see the outline. I love this. TRANSFORMATION EQUALITY!

Also I love how he’s like “OMG CHIBIUSA AND HER GIRLFRIEND HAVE GIVEN ME THEIR AWESOME RESOLVE AND STRENGTH!” Manga Mamoru is fantastic like that, he’s always baldly admitting that he gets power and strength from the example of his girlfriend or daughter, and that he looks up to the ladies and they inspire him with their bravery. 

Also he is totally trying to me Batman here. And sparkling as he does it. MANGA MAMORU I WILL TAKE YOU OVER EDWARD CULLEN ANY DAY.

I thought I was over manga Mamoru until I was reading the new reprinted American manga release. 

And it all came back. 

Manga Mamoru (a very distinct character from Anime Mamoru) may still my favourite fictional boyfriend ever written in anything ever.

The anime really did cheapen him like nobodies business.

Ahem. Hotaru is badass, more badass than fuckin Usagi or Chibiusa. Hotaru can destroy the motherfucking universe. She is NOT Chibiusa’s girlfriend, she has a motherfucking name. It’s Hotaru, and she will end you and the rest of the universe if she so desires. Recognize.

wow so sometimes I’m looking back on old posts and see that I never saw that people have reblogged me really aggressively and arrogantly for no fucking reason. Rude as shit. I know Hotaru’s name AND I know she’s Chibiusa’s girlfriend, thanks.

Man I’m getting so antsy about 2013. It’s three months and I at least want to know how long it’s gonna be and if the main voice actors are reprising roles or what? And stuff. I want this anime to develop stuff from the manga bc a lot of it was underdeveloped! But I reaallly hope they faithfully adapt manga Mamoru bc. this kinda thing.

I forgot how heartbreaking Michiru’s little speech was. Her voice actress delivered it beautifully. And the tears! And Haruka’s determined face in response. Her just…automatically looking over at the pen is such a great moment. My heeeeart.

yeah these character definitely have no depth nope they’re not amazing or interesting at all.

Also Michiru investigates all her crushes  apparently. It’s like stalking, but far more sophisticated because it’s Michiru doing it.

“cruise on the beach in your car” is going to be my default innuendo from now on.
