As much as I want Sailor Moon 2013 to get to Stars for the Sailor Quartet being Chibi-Usa’s Sailor Soldiers and how completely rad that would be, I also want to get to it for this moment.

I want it because we see just how much Chibi-Usa has grown up over the course of the series, that it’s not just Usagi who’s matured and come into her own and figured herself out.  We saw that terrified little girl who acted bratty because of how scared and alone she was, how alone she felt.  And now we see her taller, physically maturing along with emotionally, we see her with her own team.

We see her living up to her mother’s legacy and I’m just so proud of this precious baby girl.  ;__;♥

Like I especially want the part where things are going all to shit in the future and Chibiusa is like “k mom I’ve gotta go help Usagi”

and NQS is like “but!!!”

and Chibiusa is like “handle things on this end Mom, seriously, I got this.”

And NQS is just like nods and she’s clearly like “w…ow”

It’s like ULTIMATE CHARACTER GROWTH AND MOTHER DAUGHTER LEGACY REACHING IT’S CULMINATION AND ALL THE THINGS i LOVE?

omg they’ll probably actually be consistent with her dark skintone this time. what is they actually mentioned her half-Romani heritage in a well-done way???

I also want my queer family raising Hotaru and Setsuna working in SCIENCE.

You know what else we might get?  BADASS CHIBI-USA AND THE SAILOR QUARTET SHOWING UP IN THE GALAXY CAULDRON TO LEND THEIR SUPPORT.

LOOK AT THIS FIERCE BABY AND HER TEAM, LOOKING SO GROWN UP AND LEADING THEM LIKE A BOSS, COMING BACK TO HELP BECAUSE OF GALAXIA’S ATTACK’S AFFECT ON THE FUTURE.

I loved that the manga was all about the lady legacies and powerful ladies will always protect and Sailor Moon’s legacy will never end and

so yes I REALLY WANT THE SAILOR QUARTETTTTT

CYBORG HOTARU.

Like, it makes me laugh when I think about Naoko talking about how she originally wanted Ami to be a cyborg (which makes her 300 IQ suddenly MAKE SO MUCH MORE SENSE) and she wanted to kill her off at the end of the first arc (which was originally going to be the whole series) and being mad that her editors wouldn’t let her do it, so instead she recycled that idea into Hotaru, which does make me smile, yes, but also, holy shit, this entire storyline was so good.

Cyborg!Hotaru was so heartbreaking and kind of nightmare fuel because LOOK AT HER FUCKING ARM and it was so tragic that this was how she lived her life, except then she died and got to be reborn and, as much as I loved that she got her papa back in the anime, it was so much more powerful a story in the manga.

I really really wanna see the new anime represent Hotaru’s storyline as dark as it was in the manga. Like it was really nice that Hotaru got her dad back in the anime, but you know, in the manga, there was no “it was aliens” as an excuse for her dad being abusive and awful. He just was, he became that way after his wife died, and he just became horrible and twisted up and exploited his daughter. And that kind of stuff does happen. The fact that Hotaru was able to come to terms with that, let go of her dad and admit he hadn’t been the person she had loved in a long time and she owed nothing to him was great, and then a new family, not related to her by blood but ultimately much better for her as parents, accepted her and loved her for who she was… that was very powerful and nice to me.
