she states to Rosalie “if I were a man I’d marry you”. It’s almost text (and she certainly knows how to seduce the ladies and make out with them) but not quite. She says she couldn’t give Rosalie what she wants bc she’s a woman. It makes sense she’d have that attitude due to living in pre-French Revolution times, so it’s my headcanon she’s just repressing the hell out of it and I think that’s pretty basically canon (I mean “if I were a man i’d marry you” is basically the same as saying “i’m attracted to you but it’s not socially acceptable so I refuse to pursue it” to me) - just not adequately explored to my liking.
it was the seventies so i mean i guess it’s impressive that such a popular mainstream shoujo manga even had Rosalie’s crush on Oscar being irrefutable canon but still I WANT MORE.
