Thor fic- What is Written

A dinky little fic I wrote this morn in reaction to JIM #645 as therapy for fiction-based heartbreak and also because I really hope Thor finds out what happened to Little Loki. He needs to. Not really a fix fic, don’t worry. I’m not used to writing Thor and the Manchester gods prolly don’t work that way at all, I prolly got a lot of things wrong since there’s so much I don’t know about the characters, but just ignore it I needed to do this.

What is Written

of course this ends the Heartwrenching in Hindsight award
because spoiler
it’s actually the moral of little loki’s entire story.
and that’s a pretty understandable moral in the medium of American Comics, where wonderful characters can be in wonderful stories but will always, inevitably be abused and ruined by terrible writers and editors to the point where I just don’t even care anymore and never want comics to touch my perfect angel again (im talking about Cassandra Cain can you tell)
so I guess hats of to Gillen for getting that and finding a way to ensure little Loki won’t get ruined in the most HEARTWRENCHING MANNER POSSIBLE
and for telling this story with Leah that is actually about a female character being trapped as a poorly written stereotype but then little Loki sees that letting her have agency is more important than even the world and so she gets agency bc it’s BETTER FOR FEMALE CHARACTERS TO BE GOOD FICTION that is ALSO A REALLY GOOD MORAL
i just wish he didn’t have to work in a medium where he didn’t have to do something that drastic, where he could keep the story going longer without fear of someone else ruin it
even really good comics remind me of how superhero comics ultimately are terrible geez

What was that noise? by *Lelia Another pic I did of Asgardian brothers, Thor, Loki and Balder as a childs. They heard a scary noise and they decided to investigate it.

fandomsandfeminism:

So, I’ve looked at Avengers!Movie!Loki before, and I know that Kid Loki is very popular.

But I personally couldn’t find any feminist readings of the comic.

People do seem to like it though.

Can any fans add some commentary?

I haven’t read terribly far into this comic because I’m tradewaiting, but it definitely fares a lot better than some other comics from the little I have read (not that that’s saying much). Loki’s not a physically strong character, he has to go by his wits, and Leah is kinda way more powerful than him and acts as a sort of protector in what I’ve read. There’s also the fact that is EXPLICITLY caters to both women who like men and gay men- there was a bit about “all you guys and gals into bad boys, we gave you these shirtless guys!” They’re aware the readership for this comic is largely women. Finally, there was a pretty neat line from the Allmothers when Loki casually called someone a wench “you can criticize an evil woman without using language created to criticize only women”.

But yeah, that other review sounds like she’s kept up with it a lot more and knows the backstory more.

Also, the title’s going to change to focus on Sif soon, making it one of Marvel’s only female led titles (if not the only? I really haven’t kept up) With a female writer to boot.

so I’m reading this summary of all the weird shit that happened in the Thor run in the back of my Journey into Mystery trade apparently once in the comics they had loki go back in time to trick odin into adopting him

isn’t that a little too much
