yeah anderxanya im so tired was really cute she even seemed to make xander tolerable for a while

but then season six happened

and anya does not deserve xander’s shit in that season

but then i did sort of relate to xander’s fear of being an abusive person once he got married  bc i to am afraid of turning into my dad too i don’t ever want to get married bc of that

i mostly don’t like xander esp in early seasons but the stuff about his dad being hypermasculine and abusive was so interesting and relatable to me it’s too bad the show barely talked about it or explored it Xander could have been a really GOOD character and they could have even deconstructed Nice Guys

but you know

that didn’t happen

why am i suddenly having Xander feelings where did these come from

Fruits Basket would be flawless is not for Kagura pre-character development.

but she had that character development so

i honestly never found her that annoying! I mean, violent yandere girl is a pretty common manga trope, so having her attitude actually deconstructed was a pleasant surprise. The only person I found annoying pre-character development was Hiro. But that’s because he was the sheep and I felt very bitter because sure I complain a lot I DON’T COMPLAIN THAT MUCH. But then he turned into an okay dude.

I don’t actually think the series is flawless, there’s a ton of problematic tropes and weird bits and all, but it’s pretty quality, especially since I love character development.
