Volume 8, Chapter 33: Showdown in Rush Valley p. 156
Al is incredibly insulted when he is assumed to be on the same level as Ed. This is only one of the several moments in the manga that this happens. The kid just cannot stand to be compared to the likes of his tiny little pipsqueak of a brother. The guy loves you more than anything, Al; can’t you put up with his embarrassing dorkiness? We all know you’re a badass gentleman with a “very nice face” and are much taller than he. It’s okay, sweetie.
Also I really love Paninya’s attempt at comforting.
pANINYA OMG “it’s okay hun it seems hard now but yer loved”
“I was put in the same category as my brother the brawler” AL’S DEEPEST TRAGEDY CAN HE RECOVER??? HE’S A PACIFIST DAMMIT CAN HE HELP THE COMPANY HE KEEPS
Especially since earlier he was like “ED WE CAN DO THIS WITHOUT RESORTING TO VI- oh man there he goes why me hey guys can we talk this OW THAT’S NOT NICE.” Poor Al, he lives a hard life.
