Finally got around to watching it. Spoilerz and all that.
-Aaaand they have a episode with Jaime in El Paso yet don’t show his family or use Brenda and Paco. Wow show. Please miss more oppurtunities for things to be good.
-However, Jaime is still the best and I really like seeing the relationship with the Scarab preserved. I hope they bond later on like in the comics! But this show has a way of wasting potential half of the time thus far, so not holding my breath.
-Also blatant fanservice with his shirtlessness at the beginning I approve.
-I’m not sure how to feel about how the former tribal chief grandpa was portrayed. I guess someone more qualified should comment on that.
-I was surprised at how directly this show was about the implied abusive relationships. Then I remember ATLA was waaaay more direct. Kids shows these days are EDGY.
-Then is was sort of ruined by showing how this BAD GUY SELLS…-gasp- PIRATED DVDS! oh gosh what a hardcore criminal i am shocked and appalled. Like maybe you should have had illegal weapons show it would have fit a bit more with his violent attitude and the OMG HOW COULD YOU-ness.
-Meanwhile with the girls! Everything is pretty cool, only they forget about the queer ladies should be affected by Queen Bee thing :( and Babsgirl I never want to see you again I’m sorry I’m just over you.
-But Cassie! She’s so scappy and hero worshipping and eager and adorable. And they actually used a WW villian that’s not the Cheetah. And who WAS actually a Cassie specific villian. Way 2 go show.
-Bumblebee was pretty cool too. I liked that they remembered she’s really smart.
-M’gann is terrifying, yet hardcore. At least she didn’t lobotomize anyone in the ep, I think. What is up with her, she’s so sensible and then she does weird things.
-I was glad to see the ladies develop and bond, so points for that, I guess! I liked this episode a lot better than the last two but…so much missed potential with Jaime man. Aw well.
