Boys aren’t forgotten. They’re to be lured with action-filled plots and a testosterone-charged sidekick named Tuxedo.
OH MY GOD
NOBODY CAN GET MAMORU’S NAME RIGHT
also i have no idea why English audiences insisted Mamoru was there to appeal to boys
HE WAS NOT
he was there to appeal to young girls who liked boys
and fantasized about having a miracle romance with a handome rich prince with a car in a suit stealing diamonds and letting you walk all over him
he is 100% aimed towards the boyliking female fantasy and a construction of female gaze
like i’ve only been with one little boy while watching sailor moon but just from that survey JONAH HATED HIM AND FELT HE COULDN’T IDENTIFY WITH HIM so????
nothing in Sailor Moon was designed to appeal to young boys (the creepiness of older guys, arguably some elements, but that’s another discussion) the superhero action aspect is GET THIS ALSO FOR GIRLS BECAUSE GIRLS WANT TO BE HEROES TOO AND NAOKO TAKEUCHI AND HER SUPERIORS ACTUALLY GOT THAT OMG!!! get over it america

[Text - (276): I don’t think he understands what an important role his penis plays in my level of self esteem]
I think the interesting part in this is that he was really just a prop to Shiori, one to be used to manipulate Juri. You never see that, male characters who exist just as a prop to be played with by female characters. To be used and tossed aside for specific reasons. I mean you see female characters treated like this every other second, but I am having trouble thinking of even one other guy like the nameless boy, one who is simply nothing more than a tool to be used romantically to make another lady jealous. No more and no less. And then to top that all off both ladies in this equation are queer and into each other and really all the jealousy has nothing to do with HIM and I doubt either of them actually know his name.
