The manga spam resumes!

Mako: And Ami and Rei, they share our destiny and must fight as well. Right now, our job is to save those two at any cost, though I don’t know how we’ll do it.

But the fact that I was able to meet the two of them after searching for such a long time and the fact that we became friends and understanding our cause…I’m going to fight for them, and our cause.

I think of my friends as the most precious and important part of my life. And no matter what kind of fight we have to put up with, I won’t be scared.

I think one day you’ll have people in your life that you treasure just as much, and you’ll understand what I mean. It could be your friends, or someone that you love.

(she goes into a coughing fit)

Asanuma: Makoto!

You’re so strong…so incredibly strong.

<3 <3 <3 probably my favorite part of the R manga. I am basically Asanuma here going “YOU ARE SO STRONG AND WONDERFUL AND AMAZING MAKO”.  She really is the soldier of protection.

I just love how confident she is in espousing exactly what I love about Sailor Moon- it’s about these very different girls who found each other and fight for the same cause and treasure each other more than anyone, and their friends are the most important thing to them, and they are determined to fight to protect and support their friends against anyone at any cost and that’s what makes them strong and invincible. It’s a very simple thing, but it’s so rare to find such a sincere and real-feeling-heart-warming focus on the bond of female friendship in media, and the idea of that sort of sisterhood making a person strong and admirable.

Mako spent so much of her life being alone and sort of hating who she was and focusing on guys who treated her like shit- but now she’s discovered other women who support her, accept her for who she is and share her cause, and she is now just so completely devoted to them and her cause above anything else, and protective and fierce and no longer afraid to show her strength and be herself. That’s what I really love about her. <3
